Rajasthan orders probe into private varsities in wake of recent mark-sheet scam

JAIPUR: Close on the heels of the fake mark sheet scam at the Jodhpur National University, the state government has ordered an inquiry against some private universities in the state over the issue of fake degree certificates.
The universities under the scanner are OPJS University, Churu; Sunrise University Bagad Rajput (Alwar); Shri Jagdish Prasad Jhavermal Tiberewala University , Chudela (Jhunjhunu); Sridhar University ,Bigodana (Jhunjhunu), Singhania University , Pacheri Badi (Jhunjhunu), Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University, Udaipur; Bhagwant University, Ajmer; NIMS university Jaipur and Madhav University, Pindwara (Sirohi).

These universities are accused of issuing fake degree certificates and issuing degree certificates back date. An official said the government received complaints that these universities have issued fake certificates. We have ordered an inquiry by a four member committee.
Official said Anil Kothari of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur has been made the co ordinator of the inquiry while members of the committee are: SK Agarwal Maharaja Ganga Singh University Bikaner, Rajesh Kothari, Rajasthan University, Jaipur and Praveen Mathur of the Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University Ajmer.
